Successful takeover of BINAR Handling Group by J. Schmalz GmbH

With the takeover by J. Schmalz GmbH, Glatten, the BINAR Handling Group AB, Trollhättan, passes into the hands of new owners. On March 16, 2022 Schmalz signed a binding purchase agreement to acquire 100% of the shares of BINAR Group.

 

Binar Handling, headquartered in Sweden (Trollhättan) with additional sites in France, Germany, Turkey and China, has been developing ergonomic handling systems and electrical manipulators for various industries including industrial production, automotive and construction since 1979. Its goal is to offer assisting premium tools to keep workers healthy and ensure efficient handling processes with the motto “Beyond Gravity”. Binar Handling produces manipulators (25kg to 600kg), and below the hook equipment, including balancers and grippers (“end effectors”) with intelligent sensors and software that balance the load automatically.

J. SCHMALZ GMBH, founded in 1910 and a third-generation family-run business, is one of the market leaders in automation offering vacuum and ergonomic handling systems, used in logistics applications as well as the automotive, electronics and furniture production sectors. With the acquisition of Binar Handling, Schmalz now generates more than €150m in revenue with a total of 1700 employees at 23 locations worldwide.
